modding rivers

I am currently developing an American Civil War game using this game engine. I have tried to make "major rivers" impassable
or at least with a movement penalty for crossing using the Campaign Edit Movement Cost Data feature in the Campaign menu.
Whether I set this to "Impassable" or to some number (e.g. +8) I get no difference in the game. I can move a unit back and
forth across a major river without penalty. What am I missing?

Hi
We've investigated this and found that there is an issue which means the Major Rivers aren't currently impassable, nor can the movement cost be amended. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Hopefully we'll be able to fix this in a patch, but it might not be very soon as we're currently deep into preparing our forthcoming WWII: World at War release, and once that's done we'll work on a patch for this game.
So I'd recommend continuing work on your ACW game, and then hopefully when we release the patch you'll be able to fix that setting too in your campaign. [:)]

Thanks for your quick response. If you can look into correcting this it would help me a great deal, the major waterways were very important during that war. An additional upgrade would also be useful. As a rail gun can provide artillery support via the rail network, a similar use in the ACW would be artillery support provided by a gunboat travelling on a major river, like the city-class gunboats (or Eads) did.
