Two things that are bothering me ...

Hi, there are two aspects of the game that I would like to clarify.
1) I don't see any arborescent Chain of Command. I see HQ units but not a real arborescence up to the general HQ (the big boss).
2) I d'on't see the exact number of soldiers/vehicles in each units ? Is it abstracted ? The numbers in the unit's report are too low to represent actual number of troops.
Can someone help me to clarify ?
Thx.

1) There is a chain of command with essentially three levels: General HQ=>Formations=>Units. The chain of command affect supply and proficiency, and thus readiness. The extent to which that can be considered "arborescent" and whether you're satisfied with chain of command modeling in the game are up to you.
2) The numbers in the unit report are individual vehicles/squads.

Perhaps one day the game will have a hierarchy so it better mimics real life military chain of command. Many have been asking for that.
Trucks are the only vehicle abstracted. All other vehicles represent one. Squads are several people. Each country can have a different number of people in a squad. These squads are assembled when the equipment database is created. That is the only time individual people are counted in the game. And because each country can have different numbers of people in a squad there is no way the game can currently count each person in a squad once the squad is added to the equipment database. It would be possible to count individual people in a squad to get a casualty count because the number of people must be known to make the squad for the database. But this capability has not been added to the game.

Thanks for this very detailed answer. It's clearer now ...

If I can make a quick example from FITE2: a common (there are variants) German Infantry regiment consists of 3 battalions of each 3 companies of each 3 platoons of each 4 squads (3*3*3*4) adding to 108 squads in each regiment. The squads consist of 10 soldiers (thus the defense strength of 10). The AP and AT values of the squad are calculated according to the weapons that the soldiers used.
