IMO, Armored Brigade is a nice small game, but I was hoping for more. Like ammo resupply rules, more detail and better graphics. The ability to have reinforcements would be a nice addition too.

Also, I find the artillery to be clunky. Usually, I have to tell the unit to fire after it adjusts.

Again, no fan boy, but I would not describe AB as a "small" game. And I've played them all over the past 30 years. Tell me what game is superior (besides maybe Combat Mission Black Sea) and I will buy it today [;)]

I like the graphics. They are simple and clear. Zoom in looks good with nice overhead views of the vehicles and many have proper camouflage for the time period you are playing. Also, the graphics resemble military maps and computer graphics now in use by many militaries.

Yes, you have to call in the FFE, just like the real FO has to do.

That's realistic actually. The firing battery cannot tell when the rounds are on target. Only the observer can and the observer calls for FFE.

Yes, but we're not 'playing as' forward observers, usually (unless you make the 'player' character an FO). So I think that though this detail is a nice little micro-managing touch, it should be optional. We should be able to rely on whichever on-map character is calling the shots to register, adjust and give the go ahead to FFE.

But I would hope the developers wouldn't waste time on this tiny detail in the immediate future. There are many more important areas for development time and effort. Pathfinding, AI reactions under fire, AI routines in general, contour clarity are the things that stand out for me as would benefit from some tweaking. But in general - and here's my own little review - it's an engrossing and cool game, well worth the money. At the start of its development too. I hope it sells well, and continues to develop.

Isn't there a box you can tick that makes the artillery fire as soon as it is adjusted?

And same for on-map artillery. You just hit the FFE button while they are still adjusting and they will start firing as soon as they can, no further input needed.

You can also queue up shots for on-map artillery. e.g. you press the "fire 1 round" button 12 times and they will fire 12 rounds and stop. It might be in the manual too, though I have not checked.

Just don't check 'fire on my command' and they auto fire when ready. I think. That's what I think I've noticed, anyway...
