Tutorial Guide

The manual mentions a Tutorial Guide is available on the hard drive when the game is installed.
I can't seem to find this - there is certainly nothing but that name I can see in the game folder - Does anyone know if this still available?
Thanks.

Sorry, the manual is wrong. The game shipped without the tutorial.

Okay thanks - that's a shame.
I clicked on one of the links for the tutorials done by n01487477 and there was a warning about this being harmful to the computer. I assume that because this is a stickied thread people are happy to use these? Has anyone encountered any problems?

I bet the devs had no idea how to create the tutorial for the game of this scope and complexity.

That would be untrue - the developers are very talented and intelligent people. Time and cost were likely the issues. Many things were only partially coded and the game had to ship before they could be finished.
Warspite 1 - there are lots of YouTube type videos showing game action, but not necessarily going through all the switches and text links that the player uses in game. Forumites will be happy to answer your "how to" type questions on thing like how to rescue troops using the "Pick Up Troops" order (only available
after you select troop transport and choose the destination hex).

I meant it was probably not feasible to create a tutorial without revealing some of the black-boxed mechanics of the game, and the devs opted out.

IIRC there was a tutorial to WITP, but not WITPAE. I believe I played it, or else the ales were really good!

I don't know about n01487477's other tutorials, but the links in his first post on the Japanese first turn are to dropbox, which is a perfectly safe, Western distribution/storage/sharing platform. Sometimes anti-virus programs act up even if there is no real threat - better safe than sorry, I suppose.

Ok, this makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying. [:)]

Yeah, A-V programs like to see security certificates to be sure the site is legit and not a look-alike decoy. But not all sites maintain a security certificate, especially user-driven sites.
