How do I slow down the AI turn, or at least get the combat result messages to persist long enough for me to read them? Is that possible? There doesn't seem to be anyway to get them up again once the turn finishes. Some appear in the summary at end of AI turn, but not all.

Have you tried turning off Quick Animation (in the Options screen) to see if that helped?
