Editor Problems

Working on a mod with 8 major powers w/o China and Japan.
When I try to edit the unit map in the editor I keep getting this error.
FAILED(draw_sprite_on_mapsurface): Segmentation violation
It happens only when I am looking at Sothern France, Northern Italy, Switzerland and North Africa. If I only edit the other maps and do not display the units it does not happen.
These generalised error notices are frustrating because they tell us little to nothing about what is causing this.
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
