Guys is it me, is it the system or is something wrong with the Universe?

I accept challenges, my opponent sends me their turn, I open the file

and what I get is 'Server Error'![:@]


Is this endemic or is there a way round this roadblock?

This is the message you'll get when you're trying to use the wrong version of TOAW to read your file.
It's trying to tell you to use the other executable to run it. You'll get this message when you try
to use 4.0.2.21 to load a file created with 4.1.0.4

Well I have just done that and now I have an even Bigger problem!

Now I cant access anything at all

When I try to open for a game I get this:

Opart 4.exe - System Error

X The code execution cannot proceed because steam_api.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

This is crazy at this stage.

Without having to read through two full threads of techie stuff I am of a mind to proceed as follows

[BTW I think I installed v21 and what I should have done is installed v20 1st]


I am going to remove TOAW IV from the system and then reinstall the game, update to v20 and then to v21


Does that sound right?

Uninstalling and reinstalling and doing both of the
latest patches ( .20, .21 ) ought to do it. If that doesn't work then you'll probably have to create the new folders in the "Program Files(x86)" chain manually. I'm just guessing because my install went flawlessly. Sorry, don't mean to rub it in.

Good for you. Now all you need is an opponent. I mean to encourage you to play a real human instead of Elmer because Elmer will permit you to make bad habits in your gameplay.
