Does anyone know why I can't land my India transports (Corp and Spec Ops) in any of the East Africa ports?

Dumb question: Do you control the ports? You can't land at enemy-occupied ports

I own the ports that I am trying to land at, and they are at strength 5

I even tried to land at Alexandria and can't do so there either

Are India's cities brown/crimson or green in color?

The only other thing I could think of is I don't think you can use a port if an enemy unit (including ground unit) is adjacent to it.

Thanks - that makes sense for E Africa, but not for Alexandra (no enemy units there), I'll check on India city colors tonight

Make sure an Axis sub is sneakily hiding right next to the port. I'm 100% certain this cuts off supply inland, but not 100% on the transport usability part. I would think so, however, even if it is hidden/silent.

If the port is in your hands and there is a land hex immediately adjacent to the port that is empty of units (friendly or otherwise) and also belongs to a country that is fully mobilized (i.e. in the war) then I can't see a reason why you can't unload.

However, as has been noted above, if the port is damaged below strength 5 then you can only move into it in one turn, and unload in the next.

Hopefully somewhere within this all is the answer?

It's very odd - India is at war, the ports are above strength 5, a land hex was available and yet the India transports couldn't land anywhere in East Africa or Egypt. In the end I took them back to India, where I imagine they will be needed soon enough!

That is odd, I'll take a look to see if I can recreate this/get to the bottom of it.

What kind of units you taking to East Africa from India? Guessing you're buying HQ + Tank? You're certainly not waiting until the 1942 HQ. That's an expensive operation 410+250+operands. This will definetly seal the fate of the Italians in East Africa. Don't like paying 1000 to win a wasteland. Additionally, you'll pay to leave that sewer. I'd consider a gambit to Burma.

Go for the HQ, ignore the corps where possible until the HQ is reduced.
