Losing points for downed Israeli AC (Scenario 1)?

Post by fatgreta1066 »

I'm losing points when Israeli aircraft are shot down, but not Kuwaiti aircraft. Am I supposed to be providing CAP for the Israeli's as well? I can't do anything about where they fly their planes.

Are you playing the current version of the scenario, which is part of the 1.15.3/build 1009.27.6 update? That should relieve you of that responsibility.

The bad news is saved games do not use updated versions of that scenario, so you'll have to start over to get this benefit.

Thanks. Does the apply to future scenarios in the campaign if playing in Campaign mode?

The individual checkpoints are "locked" to the version of the scenario that existed when that checkpoint was created. If a new checkpoint is created, then that checkpoint will be the updated scenario.

What I do is, when I reach the continue conditions of a campaign scenario, I save it before clicking the "continue campaign" box. That way, if the scenario I'm currently playing is updated and I want to play the updated version without going all the way through the campaign again, I just load up the previous completed scenario (it doesn't matter whether that scenario was also updated since I completed it), hit "continue campaign", and play on with the updated scenario. Yes, I do have to start the updated scenario from the beginning, but it's better than either playing an outdated version or replaying the previous scenario(s) as well.

Maybe something for the dev wish list - campaign checkpoints merely point to which scenario to load rather than actually creating a full save. If that isn't possible, then create the full save at the end of the previous scenario rather than (or in addition to) at the start of the next scenario.

As test I just shot down a civilian 757 from the mulim nations and sank a honduran container ship in the gulf. I thought I"d catch hell for that from my superiors but they seem unfazed.
