Hello Guys,
I am not sure, if I should pick a commander with good ground or rather good sea attribute for Japanese coastal defense units.
Maybe someone can tell me?
Best regards,

Coastal Defence units are not ships, they are LCUs. All LCUs benefit from better land skill in the commanders.

I have had good luck in using aggressive commanders.

I play the Allies but rather than "waste" a good "assault unit" commander I've had good results against ships with CD commanders best suited for a "combat unit".

+1.
In a recent GC Jap AI repeatedly harassed Canton Island and attempted several landings. Since I appointed a new commander with high land/agressiveness skills the CD regiment works like a charm.
