Censorship

Hi,
I am looking forward to the release of AAHTTR as I really enjoy AARDOA. Finally the whole campaign with all the possibilities and problems that Market Garden had.
However, one thing that concerns me and will probably be the deciding factor in my decision to buy is the annoying issue of censorship for the European market.
Will the Euro version have SS or "Waffen Grenadier" (who?!!!) fighting for the Germans?
I was lucky enough to get AA before CDV got their hands on distribution for Europe.

Knowing CDV it will be Waffen Grenadier:( .
I have to say that I had the same 'who' reaction when I first encountered the 'WG' units in AA. However, CDV are slightly legitimate in referring to SS divisions in this way as some SS divisions were 'Waffen Grenadier'! Check out -
www.WSSOB.com for a bit more info.

Isn't CDV's involvement with AA finished, now that Matrix will be publishing it instead of Battlefront?

Actually our publishing deal with CDV for the marketing of AA:Red Devils over Arnhem in Western Europe is still in force. We will be offering existing European customers a trade-in deal whereby they can get our new game AA:HTTR, when it comes out.
The reason CDV insist on WG instead of SS is to comply with their German law - they are a German company.
For the trade-in deal we will be shipping both a doctored ( WG )and an undoctored ( SS ) version. The doctored version will be sold into Germany again to comply with their law, while other countries can get the undoctored version. Best of both worlds really.

BS, there´s no problem at all with naming SS troops in a wargame in Germany. CDV seems to be overly PC in this regard. There´s is a problem with the presentation of Nazi insignia though.
note: No, I won´t go over this discussion again

So let me get this straight...
- The deal with CDV re. AA:RDOA is still in place (it would have to be really) ?
- CDV involvement ends with AA:RDOA ?
- European purchasers can freely buy AA:HTTR mail order from Matrix, or their usual stockists (Chips & Bits etc) without the "we won't ship to Europe" crap ?
- Buyers of both BF and CDV versions of RDOA will have discoounted upgrade paths to HTTR ?
Is that correct ? (I`m a Brit who bought the original US version of RDOA).

All I can say at this stage is that our agreement with CDv is only for the original AA:RDOA.
