I play with 2.3 version because when ver. 4 was available, I was too far im my current campaign so I didn't want to start another one after more than 200 hours of play.
I have a little problem :
I assigned core units with an auxiliary unit. At the following battle, those core units were considered auxiliary : I couldn't reassign them again because of this. My editor (WAWed) couldn't help.
Does anyone knows how to solve this ?

You should not be able to even assign core units to an aux formation. I've tried that and could not do it. I'm surprised the computer let you do it.

The only way you might change it is to reassign these units to another core formation.

I tamed my computer so that it lets me do some exotic tricks...
One thing I dind't managed to let it me do is to assign an aux unit into a core one, evn it is as a former core unit...
Anyway it's not a big problem because I keep those "false core units" in each battle.
