Hello,

I've noticed that the limit on uploading files appears to be 250kb which is very small and does not permit easy upload of game images into AARs. The limit appears to be 1 mb in WitPAE and even higher in WitE. Is it impossible to increase the size of files we can upload? Thanks.

sPzABt653. I appreciate you get 5MB my maximum is 250KB. Anything larger and it tells me that my file is too large to upload. In WitPAE my maximum file size is 1 MB.

The funny thing that my maximum file size in the ARR is 200 kb (I misspoke when I said 250 kb) but here in the tech section my maximum file size is 5mb as sPzAbt653 posted.

So, is it possible to increase the file size we can post in the AAR section?

I don't know, and I don't want to further aggravate you, but I will say that it is quite possible to do AAR's while keeping screen shots under 200kb. I usually do it as a general rule, and often keep them under 100kb, unless for a special occasion when a higher resolution shot is necessary.

I took a look at your AAR, and I see your dilemma. Maybe Matrix will increase the file size for you. Meanwhile, I will say that I use Paint.Net [a free program], and when I open a new screen shot it will display the file size [width and height, as seen below].

Additionally, with Paint.net, when you save a shot you can reduce the file size:

Sorry if I gave the impression you were aggravating me! I was just puzzled as to why the file size you were reporting were different. You get very nice resolution from paint net. I'll wait and see if Matrix can deal with the file size issue. If not, I'll take a look at paint.net. Thanks for the info!!![&o][&o]

So, I can upload the larger files here. Now, if I can cut them down that might make it better.

I do have to say that I'm disappointed that no one from Matrix ever responded to the file size question that I had.

You can easily make them much smaller. You don't want the viewers to have to scroll all over the screen. You don't need the entire view that you have in-game, just cut it down to what you are focusing on. And you certainly don't need huge white area of nothing. What program are you using?

sPZ thanks for your patience![&o] I was using Microsoft Paint and I had someone walk me through the steps of cutting the pictures down to size and I think that I have it now (as shown above) where I'm not wasting file size on the white space. These pictures are still too large for the AAR section, but I'll either make smaller pics or move the AAR section up here.

Still I think you could make them much smaller. Below is what I see on my screen, and as you can see your pic is way too large to be seen. Imagine if you did an AAR like this, it would mean that I would have to be constantly scrolling to view these huge pics that most likely show way more of what is needed to be seen, and are also at too high a resolution which is unnecessary. I cut the screen shot below down to less than 150kb and you can still see it well enough to get the point.

I've asked Matrix support if this can be increased here as well to match WitPAE.
