Gents -

Just to be clear, both construction and engineers have a construction value, and can be used to expand or repair airfields and repair ports.

Engineers are are also useful in reducing fortification levels.

Am I on track?

Thank You all for your help!

Mac

Yes, assault engineers and pioneres reduce enemy fortifications. Construction and labor units do not. They all help in digging entrenchments.

Mac,

Engineers reduce enemy fortification levels during an attack and help build fortifications levels in a hex if assigned to a combat unit in that hex.

Engineers do NOT expand or repair airfields or repair railyards or ports. Only construction and labor units do those.
