Chinese Anyone?

Sometimes modders get bogged down too. Nothing beats Chinese I thought. Then I remembered that I had long wanted to make a scenario that would be somewhat different, involving the Chinese mainland, and the time of the warlords. I had envisioned something a lot deeper and more detailed than what I made, but since this project was a sideshow, it never really materialized into that. Instead it turned into something different, yet still wonderful. I give you now:
CHINESE DIPLOMACY
It's a pretty simple game. It has what a standard ATG random game has, that is an almost equal starting position for all. But it's much more than that. It is a slew of different games, packed into one.

As you can see there are options to play up to 11 players. Or if you want, just 5, or maybe 4.. even 3. And If you are feeling a little frisky, and want some more action

There is also two one on one scenarios in the form of the Northern Expedition, and the North vs the South.
You can also customize these games a bit. High Unit Density allows for more production, thus more units, and deeper penetration of the tech tree. There is a 2 round breather, that allows you and everyone else to relax, set up defensive positions, prepare for offensives and negotiate with others. There is an all at war option, that pretty much does what it says: Everyone will begin at war. There is also an option to geographically equalize some nations for the 11 player game, where Korea and Tibet probably has the advantage otherwise, being very isolated (in Tibets case) and easy to defend, compared to the rest.
But there is more... Once a selection for the number of players you want is made, the names of the different factions change to reflect the game type.

This is how the strategic map looks when 5 players is chosen. Only the factions that have victory points shown (the dots) and a city name are playing in the game.

The borders on the map, and factions look different when another selection is made. Here is an example. The Northern Expedition.

There are also custom flags in the scenario, for each faction. So that's 11 new flags. Here is a snippet showing the Jin Clique flag.

To those of you veterans out there that have sniffed around in the Classic Scenarios and in the subdirectory Human Only, will find that this sounds very familiar to the European Diplomacy scenario, there. (Except it of course has the graphics from orignal AT).... and it is AI playable despite saying it is not. This scenario too is AI playable, and it's fun too, like the European Diplomacy scenario, from where this game has borrowed more than a little inspiration.
You can find the new scenario here:

You need to register to download it, and it can be done here:

For reference, before anyone starts a game "blind", here is where the different factions are located on the map.
North vs. South

Currently playing the 11 player variant against AI. Really enjoying the scenario so far. Always been a fan of low tech. starts. If you guys ever organize a PBEM match with this let me know.

I wonder what nations you are playing? Nationalists is one of my favorites.

Early-adopter chiming in to say that I'm having a great time playing the 11-regime scenario against the AI.
The map is especially solid in this scenario; it's clear that you, ernieschwitz, put a lot of effort into it - it shows.
Many thanks for this multi-scenario mod!

Nationalist forces conduct the Northern Expedition, driving towards Peking, and hold in the south with light garrisons.

Thanks AMSwift! Great screenshot too, showing off the new TO&E options as well. I didn't include it because the 2.28b patch is not official yet. Once it gets official, I might return to the scenario and make a change to have the new TO&E options in it.
