Turn 21. Jan/Feb 1943. CW (Again) Conquers Italy.

And as a result of this (re) conquests, all Italian hexes NOT in German zone of control lock change to CW control, which royally messes with supply of the German units in Italy. Not to mention that any Italian units, which would have been moved back into Italy after the first conquest, would have surrender during this second conquest.

A second conquest means the country and all its units are out of the game. And the Germans only get hexes that have their undisputed ZoCs on them (which is the normal conquest rule). The only thing I see that looks wrong hex-control-wise is the hex controlled by Germany that is due east of Switzerland.

However to do a second conquest the Allies must take Rome, so this is a bug. The game is applying the initial conquest conditions for Italy over again when only Rome is important.

Generally, it is not a good idea for Germany to liberate Italy after she is first conquered, although there are certain situations where it makes sense to do so.

I can't believe this is an old bug. Can someone check this on earlier versions? Capturing Rome is hard; most (not all) Italian surrenders are triggered by the other three conditions, so I can't believe that this situation has not arisen before.

It depends on Germany liberating Italy, so I expect that made it less common.

This is a bug that has been reported by the beta testers and is on the list to be fixed. There is no way to proceed in the game. Production is also messed up.
