UPDATE! The book is now available on Amazon! Check it out here

August 1991. Soviet hardliner Pavel Medvedev knows that only bloodshed can save USSR from complete collapse. With violence breaking out in the streets of Moscow, few realize that he is piloting the Soviet Union on a collision course with its deadliest enemy yet: NATO.

US Marine Colonel Robert Buckner, passed over for a covet-ed command, takes a post working for Vice Admiral Falkner on his way to retirement. As the world lurching towards World War III, he finds his way towards a panoramic view of the unfolding crisis with a pivotal role to play.

War breks out the globe, but the pin falls in the far north, where soldiers and civilians alike must battke bit just the enemy, but the unforgiving elements. With arsenals of high-tech weapons loosed in both directions, the ultimate reward not be victory, but survival.

H-Hour is the first book of the Northern Fury series, which tells the alternate history of World War III's northern front through the eyes of those who lived it.

Loved the book. But curious about this as well. Are you planning smaller, more frequent bites or bigger books? Looking forward to the next one regardless.

Hay guys really appreciate your interest and support. Really glad your enjoying it.

Book #2 ‘Fire and Ice’ is in the works and book#3 is framed out.

In addition to the Northern Fury trilogy we are looking at the following (not necessarily in this order):

Caribbean Fury - 1 book
Baltic Fury - 1 book
Mediterranean Fury - 1 book
Indian Ocean Fury - 1 book
Pacific Fury 2... maybe 3 books

Haven't even contemplated the European front yet.

Remember though that we both have day jobs - busy ones - and families - and that this is a sideline. H-Hour has only been on sale now for 4 days and we are still trying to figure out a bunch of stuff.

When we started this project we thought that a tempo on one book every two years was realistic. That was 3.5 years ago.

Our tentative aim point for 'Fire & Ice' is Christmas 2020. I am cautiously confident that we know a lot more about putting a book out to market now, so we can become more efficient and we may very well make that timeline.

We share your enthusiasm for the squeal, but it will be a while yet.

[ALERT: Minor spoilers of the first two chapters in this post]

I've read through the first 10 chapters and I am really enjoying it so far!

The writing is engaging and I am really interested in the alternate path things are going after the August Coup.

As an aside, it is kind of cool to read an alternate history narrative during which I actually exist (I was born in the intervening time between Chapters 9 and 10; May 11 to be precise)

Also, my father has told me a few times over the years that he was both shocked and very concerned when he heard the breaking news on August 19 1991 that there was an ongoing coup d'état attempt in Moscow. He was so concerned that he actually called in sick to work that day to follow the developments. As I read Chapter 2, I occasionally had some speculative thoughts on how my father would be reacting to the reports that Gorbachev had 'died of a heart attack' and some sort of confrontation at the White House. I believe the ultimate outcome of the coup would have made him very nervous indeed, and he probably would very much have been a reader of Jack Young's reporting.

Finally, my father did purchase the E-book, but he has not started it yet.

I will most definitely leave an Amazon review when I have finished the book.
