Well it appears that Andrew Ewanchyna has become another casualty of the war as he has completely disappeared from his duty post here at the SUDG forum. I guess we'll have to amend his status to "Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown". Hopefully he won't become a fatality and we can only hope someone will find him before we die of boredom waiting for the 2.1 patch to be finished.

Dave,
Thanks for an update on the patch status. I know you have to wait until Friday to post the patch since Friday is the universal patch posting day.;)

David,
Well next week came and went and no 2.1 patch was posted. I sure hope someone wakes up at Matrix and finally takes the time to post the patch before we give up on waiting.

sad too

Well Eric,

I'm coming close to agreeing with you. I have to say that among the existing 4X games, the reason I personally chose to purchase SUDG was that Matrix picked it up. Low and behold, there it was, right in the store, ready for me to buy.

And the thing is, Matrix did such an incredibly outstanding job with Steel Panthers, I sort of expected, and hoped that Matrix would do the same amazing job with Starships.

The game certainly merits this kind of attention. It's a great game, and certainly still it ranks as an equal with GalCiv and better, apparently than MOO3.

Now I own and play GalCiv, which, like Matrix is a small company. But we've had several patches for GalCiv, not to mention the incredible number of random events and mods already available at their library.

But SUDG, I think, easily outdoes GalCiv when it comes right down to starship action. (and who doesn't love starship action. :) )

So, not knowing the particulars, not knowing how things work at Matrix, and what's up with the patch, and all, I can only hope that they realize that they've got an outstanding game here, but a game that still needs refinement and some additional effort.

It's good now. It has the capacity to be GREAT!

Yay Matrix! Yay SUDG! But come on, guys. We players are hungry for more.

thanks,

Madjospeh
