Hi all
Looking for any information on soviet airbase units during the CW (1980-1990) Baltic region , What type of air def did they have at the airbases. I can only assume they had a number of ZU-23-2 / S-60's but does anyone know what type of radars they would have used and is there any OBB of the Base units.
Cheers

Cheers for the links [:)] appreciate the help
I had got some info from Sowjetische Fliegerkrafte Deutschland 1945 1994 (book 3 and 4) but still looking for the full OOB of a Soviet Air Base Regiment
So it seems that each air base in East Germany had approx 1 mixed Air Def Bn allocated for its local defense. I will go with that for now.
Cheers

Keep please in mind that Soviet Air Defence was always - a system. This means that every facility, object, army structure etc. are covered with a system of vary-range air defense arms. So you could consider 1-2 9K37 Buk (SA-11 dbid #428) battery supplemented with 9S18M1 Radar (#1313), 4-6 9K33M3 Osa-AKM (SA-8b #1646) supplemented with P-40 (#270), PRV-16 (#1658), P-19 (#1656) and 4-6 9K22 Tunguska (SA-19 #74) supplemented with 9S80 (#1257). Some supplementing facilities especially long-range you can place far from defending object because they are part of regiments, while we operate here with battalions.
