Couple questions on splitting formations and campaign 'reinforcements' /core units

I have two questions:
First off--excellent game, really enjoying the DLC as Italy and Yugo. This sim plays very smoothly and enjoyign the realism aspects. For me, it's like CMANO for land warfare.
One Q: on subdividing a formation, such as a Tank Company--
1) Is there a way to designate a platoon of say 4 tanks out of my tank company and have it maintain formation/have separate SOPs, send it off on a separate direction? Currently I have been splitting them off individually (unattaching them)in a quasi-formation.
Next Q:
2) Is there a way when creating a campaign to add units after the first campaign mission is over?
I see I can refit and plus up support units, but find no way to add units or change units to my "core". I find this very unfortunate, as sometimes I'd like to change postures to a more defensive or offensive set--by switching out units. Some units are piss-poor in mobility and I'm looking to exploit with speed with the new mission--or increase my recon ability--can't do it with my foot infantry. Would be nice to swap out foot for some mobility, albeit a smaller formation.
