Hello, Wodin, and welcome to MWIF.
I recommend that you begin with the Barbarossa scenario.
And that you watch the official tutorials. Beware that a few of the features mentioned in these are not yet implemented.

And of course there is the WiF School sub-forum for which you may want to set your top right filter to 'all topics' instead of only those from a measly 365 days.

Thanks...I was shocked and impressed when I read 150 sub phases a turn!! I also thought, how on earth can an AI be programmed for that. I now know why it hasn't got one yet.

Do not be intimidated by the turn length. It is divided into impulses, and that is where the main action takes place. And some sub-phases may be ignored during the impulse depending on what type of impulse the moving major powers select.

And some may almost always be ignored. There is a reason that one can set the game to just skip the CAP phases. (If one knows one wants to CAP, you can turn them back on, but it is very rare that one will want to CAP.)

One thing: If you do begin with the Barbarossa scenario, do NOT use the quick start. The Russian set up provided is simply awful. (Well, if you want practice beating up and awful set up, maybe. [:)])
