Quick question, if a carrier is attacking a land-based air unit, should it be in tactical/naval mode or CAP mode? Thanks.

You can experiment in hot seat mode, or if you have a unit next to the target you check predicted results and switch modes and check again.

In general though you want to be fighter mode to attack bombers, and bomber mode to attack fighters. With the caveat of possible enemy interceptors and/or your own escorts.

Naval/Tactical if attacking units, CAP mode if you're duelling for control of the skies. Mixed Mode if you're not sure whether you have control of the skies before you attack a target.
