No sound with fresh install of ver 15.5

Just got the game and updated to version cited. Have MUSIC, but no game sounds. Checked computer with other DX games which appear to have sound working normally. See attached DXDIAG.

Check that the 'sounds' box has been ticked in the 'Game options' when Command is loaded.

Thanks, Michael, but I already tried that. I believe that the game defaults to "on" for both music and sound effects, as I actually had to go looking for a way to turn the music off.
