Upgrade and realism

In reality, technological innovations were gradually arriving on the battlefield, while in SC3 a player who has enough MPPs can, for example, can change all these armored units with the latest innovation in one turn.
I think the game would be more realistic if the number of possible upgrades per turn were limited (for example according to the production parameter) to 1 or 2 units per turn.
The game would also gain in interest because it would require making wise choices and more time in advance.
What do you think of that?

I think that it is a good suggestion.

... not only if he's got the necessary MPPs, but if they aren't adjacent to enemy units, at supply 5 at min. or don't have more important things to do, like reinforcing, overstrength or attacking. There are so many restrictions already, I don“t feel the need to extend them. It's still a game using abstraction, so imagine the research containing RnD including and implementing necessary changes of production; and don`t forget 1 "turn" lasting more then a month during winter.

Although there where gradual improvements in tank/ anti tank/ air design there were also multiple brand new prototypes introduced (Panther/Tiger/ PzV, etc etc). So your idea has some merit but is marginal, the game has bigger fish to fry like naval.

I agree with PvtBenjamin.
Additionally improvements would be made via reinforcements/replacements being sent up with newer equipment replacing the older lost equipment.

Maybe if the AI Upgraded units that were at at least strength 8 before they get upgraded, because at the present time it does not matter what a units strength is the AI upgrades it, I have seen units sitting at strength 3 getting upgraded surely the AI should reinforce units first before it decides to do any upgrades? Not always.
A unit can reinforce when in contact with eenemy unots, but can't upgrade. So sometimes it's better to upgrade first.
