Due to the death of my last computer I lost the large version of my avatar. I just created a new version of it. Originally I posted a GIF that rotated 5 degrees at a time but I just finished one made from 360 images for much smoother animation.

This involved getting an image of the global map, adding the high Arctic and Antarctic, wrapping that around a sphere, adding a lighting model and then incrementally rotating said sphere one degree, saving the image each time. I then turned them into a GIF.

It rotates slower and smoother than my avatar, which is almost at the limit of the avatar file size.
