I know they made the AI more aggressive when on the defense because some folks said the AI didn't DO anything. Sometimes that IS the best choice.

Time and again the AI will attack from a well defended location and lose as many or more strength points than the unit is attacked. This only makes the AI defense worse IMO. Especially USSR and China.

My suggestion would be we have an option to tone down defensive AI aggression?

I agree - they seem to have a tendency to kinda bleed themselves dry by attacking despite bad odds.
