Yeah, I forget the solution, but its got something to do with the shortcut I think. You added a 'wrong' one on the new download. Again look in the Tech section of the forum. Its been mentioned before.

Do the updates from the folder where the game is located. Then make a shortcut. Then put the switches on the shortcut.

Yes, the Beta 1126b version of the game installs to a different directory than the base game and patches up to 1125a.
Thus you need a new shortcut that points to the game .exe file in the new directory (called Beta2 or something like that)

When you install the Beta it will create its own shortcut.

It won't put the switches in for you; you have to do that on your own.

The difference between people who understand computers and those who (tragically) don't:

Man Who Does Says: "Simple solution. To properly download and install a PWS file, the Beta 1126b version of the game installs to a different directory than the base game and patches up to 1125a.
Install a new shortcut that points to the game .exe file in the new directory."

Man Who Doesn't Hears: "Simple solution. To properly download and install a PWS file, insert your xlieslv into a mooooxlie, revert to xl, install in &91x***1, mal((*@#R#DND for xxxxxxx and trix.x.381,xgoor mislc1983,mc trlixle. There, you're done."

You are right. There is so much to learn with this game.
Computer paths are not natural for many people.

Below is my old Windows XP path.

The knee bone is connected to the thigh bone, the thigh bone is connected to the hip bone.
Lets hear the word of the lord.

In many ways the Windows XP tree was better visually than Windows 10.

Windows 10 has the same path but visually it is harder in my opinion.

The Windows 10 user interface is a step backwards, in my opinion. I want my Windows 7.
I'd even settle for DOS 3.3.

I could probably dig up a floppy for you, though it'd take a while to find it. Then again its so old it may not work.

Or did I finally through that junk out?

Oh, well maybe not.[:'(]

Not quite, but I do have an old Pentium III with a 3.5" floppy and an LS120 (anyone remember those, a 120MB 3.5" 'floptical' drive), great for storing game saves.[:)] I've got Win98 on that puppy. Haven't fired it up in years. Not sure why I still keep it.
