This YouTube video puts together a number of trailers/teasers of upcoming strategy games. Many sequels and remakes which include Knights of Honor 2, The Settlers (without a number), King's Bounty 2 (original game is from 1990), and I'm not even half-way in the video yet...

I love the original. That is fantastic news [&o]

I liked KoH, too. Unfortunately, the majority of sequels, which should be awesome based on the design power at the fingertips of devs today, typically fall short. This does not seem to hold true for Matrix Games though, as Battle Academy 2, The Operational Art of War IV, and WitP Admirals Edition are exceptions, among others.

But the mainstream companies are so often looking for a quick buck by riding on the popularity of the old classics. [:(]

I prefer games that are just graphics upgrades to be considered version upgrades. Game 1 should be called game 1.1 if all they did was enhance the visual.
Game 1, becoming Game 2 must have a major rework of the actual game itself. Squad Leader to ASL for instance.

Nothing new that. Doom II has the same game engine as the original, adds 1 new weapon, handful of new monsters, and all new maps. Likewise many Tiller's games seem to be same old with new scenarios and sometimes with some new units. I haven't played any of the Tiller's games, so I might be mistaken.

Yes it was, at least until I red the combat will be real time [:(]

What puts me a bit off is the “samey” appearance of all these games. Probably I’m wrong, and the gameplay will be deeply different. However there is nothing in the video comparable to Matrix Games promoting TOAW IV, War in the Pacific: AE, Close Combat and Distant Worlds. No one can mistake a game for another, and their nature is immediately clear. Not here.
