In a normal game just hit save it usually gives you a save name and you can use that or add to it. I usually use for example East Front 1915 Don T15 or whatever the scenario saved name is and whatever turn number is and then I save it in the folders I created like Larry, Damon, David or Rendy etc. For solo I just save and keep them in my solo folder.
For PBEM++ you can just click close and it will ask you if you want to save and it does it all for you.
Technically it’s just windows saving in the windows file system and the application automatically adds the correct extension. At least in windows 10.

I believe you'll need to d/l the 4.0.20 patch from the Matrix site and run that, then the .21 patch.
I'm not sure how steam works.

It may be too late for this guy, but it may not be too late for the rest of you ... get off of steam - it's a true dud.

If you have uninstalled the game from steam you have two options:
1. Reinstall the game via Steam
2. Download the installer and the .21 patch from Matrix Games from your login page and manually install the game and then apply the patch.

I think you have to do the .20 patch first, then the .21
At least that's what I had to do, might be different now.

Steam has nothing to do with it. [8|]
If you really have Steam the game is right there in your game library. All you have to do is click on it and then click install. It will take care of the rest, patches and all.
