Difficulty Trying to Update from 1.15.02

Hey all,
When the first 1.16 update was released, KMan and myself skipped the update so that we could finish our 1.15.02 games. Truth be told, I completely forget what we did to not download the update and can't find Kman's post on the forum pages.
Anyway, we now want to update to 1.16.02 and 1.16.03, but when I downloaded the 1.16.02 update and tried to run the .exe file, the pop up said SC WWII War in Europe was "not installed" on my computer. Obviously, that is not the case as I can still open the game as a 1.15.02 version and play it.
I then tried to download the 1.16.03 update, but a pop-up said "You do not have a valid serial for this game." Where do I find that number?
I am utterly confused. Should I just uninstall and then re-install the game? I don't have any other games in progress and thus there are no files I am worried about saving. But I thought I would ask first.

I believe you can skip 1.16.02 and go straight to .03.
There are issues with their pbem server; and I don't know if it is effecting their download server/storage location.

OK, I tried to download the 1.16 update from the Matrix website, but I got a popup that said:
"You do not have a valid serial for this game, please register your serial to access this page."
What is the "serial?" Is that my invoice number? Does it matter that I bought this game through the Steam website???

P.S. Now the game won't let me open the PBEM++ Online function. It says I need to update to 1.16, but when I click OK there is a "Connection error [-3} / Client Mismatch" error message. I am at a loss.

That is the problem Taxman66 referred to - there is a general problem with the PBEM++ server atm.

El Condoro,
OK, thanks for the quick response. The PBEM++ server is back working and I it appears can play the game in 1.15.02 again. But I still can't upgrade to 1.16 version. When I download and run the .exe file for 1.16.02, a pop-up still says I don't own Strategic Command: WWII War in Europe and when I try to download the 1.16.03 update, I am directed to a link where I am asked for my "serial."
Is the fact that I purchased this game through the Steam website a factor here? Do I need to download the upgrades from them? Where do I find my serial?

I thought Steam automatically updated the bame.
Maybe check your Steam settings.

I delayed the last update to finish some games. But now I can't get the upgrade to work.
Where in "settings" do you suggest I look?

Don't know, I don't have Steam.

OK, the problem is solved -- although I am not entirely sure how I managed it.
After updating Steam (again), uninstalling/re-installing the game, and rebooting my computer (again), I was able to access the upgrade. I had to do the following:
* Select "Library"
* Select "Games"
* Right Click on Strategic Command
* Select "Properties"
* Go to "Betas"
* Un-select the v. 1.15 build
I had tried to do this before, but it wouldn't work. The 1.15 build was the only option under the Betas tab. I am not sure what unlocked it, but it was now unlocked and the update went seamlessly.
Most frustrating.

Hi MJY,
Glad to hear you sorted it out and yes, the Matrix installer won't work for a game purchased in Steam, only a proper Steam update will resolve a Steam purchase etc.
