Ok, guys, I am curious, if you could get something like this Amelia Earhart, but done as a famous military individual, would you want it?

Me, I'd love em. I'm planning to at least ask for women in uniform at the very least.
I'm planning to go directly to the source and make my case.
But the question is, are you 'manly men' secure enough in your 'manliness' to own a Patton doll made by Mattel?

Use the term "action figure." It is still a doll but the industry uses the term "action figure" for dolls designed for boys. Think GI Joe and not Ken. Ken is Barbie's brother!

Real men play with dolls, especially if they have daughters that like dolls.

But of course real women can do anything men can do as well. I play with tanks as well.

Comfortable in one's self means no limits on what you like.

A Rommel figure might have some Third Reich baggage, a Patton one might spak out and pull a six-shooter on you and none of the other figures would want to play with the Monty one because he's such a massive bell-end.

I'd have gone with naked, smeared with honey and tightly tied to a cactus next to the nest of an aggressive species of ant. I'd make sure there's plenty of shade and Adolf was well hydrated. We wouldn't want him expiring of thirst before all the fun.

Real men don't really care what others think. They think for themselves. I played with the small plastic army men. I would get together with some friends and go to a nearby plot of land sparsely covered with weeds. We would have green army guys, Allies, and tan army guys, Japanese. Dirt clods were shells. Yeah, nerds to the core. [;)]

We also played army in other ways. A friend had a large open pasture with knee high grass. We built a fort with grass and sticks and put that over a hole we dug for one side. Foxholes and trenches were dug for the other side. Then we had a battle with dirt clods. It started getting dark so one of the guys who lived in the house with the field decided we needed illuminations devices. Charcoal briquettes soaked with starter fluid. After the fire department got the grass fire put out we were banned from ever building a fort again. [:D]

How do you join up as a "tank instructor"? Surely the instructors are veterans with years of service. Probably dodgy journalism. I have an aerospace background and the media, except for dedicated outlets, almost never gets anything aerospace right.

For basic thing, you don't need years of service. To learn things not in the books or as some would call them "Field Expedient Methods" then that is different, such as short tracking an Armored Fighting Vehicle to make it mobile when it otherwise would not be.

No, it is not like short sheeting a bed. When you short sheet a bed, it still has a full sheet. When you short track a tracked AFV, you don't have the full track.

No. Plus I have no room because of my My Little Ponies collection...

But Patton was a cavalryman and an equestrian so he might fit in withe the My Little Ponies. He did help save that one breed of famous Austrian horses that I can't quite remember the name of right now.
