Ok quick question, can't AC be crated and shipped on a average joe transport anymore? If so what am I doing wrong.
Don't tell me my carriers are now freight haulers...

Yes but the ship has to be docked to load and docked to unload. Best to remove the pilots, divide the unit into thirds so the entire think won't go down with the ship along with the trained pilots.

Basically on four types of non-carrier ships:
AKVs - air transport TF
AKs and xAKs - air transport TF
xAKs, xAKLs and TKs - Transport TF
Dock and load!
Ensure the delivery destination can dock the loaded ship.

Set the TF to 'do not unload' initially or it will load/unload in the same turn.[;)]

Yes I got it, I was trying to load from the AC screen 'load to docked ship', you have to load from transport screen 'load troops'

Yes, unfortunate wording in that screen. One of the many things that are part of the learning cliff for the interface alone, let alone strategies and tactics.
Since you might run into it sometime, one of the suggestions I had for your problem loading was to check whether the unit was still under a restricted HQ. Many of the US air units I wanted to move early on in my first game turned out to be permanently restricted - and they had the best aircraft and leaders!

The method you allude to is for ship with A/C capacities. For example, AV's, CV's, BB's, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Sometimes we miss the obvious too.[8|]

I use it for transport of supply and/or fuel.

Caveat: never load fuel when you have troops or an air unit already loaded!
