Count me in. I don't mind which side I play at first and whoever wants to play

If you are using a Swiss system it shouldn't matter how many players want to participate. I used to play in the World Championship table top wargames and we would have 4 rounds of games over the weekend. Typically there could be 30 or so players participating and by round 3 and 4 the rankings were sorting themselves out with the top players all playing each other.
What might help to differentiate the results would be to have more variation in the scores possible for each player rather than from 0 to 3. Maybe something like 10 for a maximum win down to 0 for a total loss.

So in the system we used on the second round the #1 player would play the #2 player, #3 vs #4 and so on.
By the third round there would be some matches not eligible as they had played before, so you might get #1 vs #3 and #2 vs #4 and so on. So the higher ranking would always play the next highest ranking eligible player.
Perhaps with TOAW you could allow rematches if they were playing the opposite sides.

Taking entries until Oct. 1 sounds good to me. It will give me a chance to do the reading which will certainly be required to not get pasted by this group. I saw the scenario was being worked on but I haven't looked at it yet. And more the merrier.

Adv rules = yes
new supply=no (unless the scenario is designed around it and it might be I don't know. Play testers would know)
New Turn rules= I prefer off usually but again, this scenario might play better with it. Grabbing initiative is a good thing and if its built into the scenario this can add a new element. It seems this usually is confusing on how to plan for it however. In other words, how to grab that second turn on purpose as part of the plan I have not mastered. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the tournament however if it makes sense and I just don't know.

Thanks for organizing this. I was thinking about a tournament too and then that's as far a I got.
I will play anyway even if there's disagreement on start rules.

From what I could gather from the manual, the "New Turn Rules" seem to be aimed at smoothing out certain advantages / disadvantages of game calculations that used to be run only at "end of turn" in III and earlier versions, rather than at "end of move" in TOAW4 with new rules on, so I thought it would be fairer to leave them on.

For the supply, I think "old" supply rules would be best b/c that will (I think) tend to make the boards more "even" (thus giving everyone as near the same supply aspects as everyone else, and also simplifying that supply aspect for those of us [like me LoL] that are not supply experts).

Scenario variability will have to be on b/c of the game events that are involved.

Note that the scenario has most rules preset as shown. Players can, of course, override those presets, though.

Two rules (Variable Initiative and New Density Rules) were too new and so not set yet. But, if the scenario is played PBEM, Variable Initiative doesn't matter. New Density Rules should be used. There is no preset for Trusted PBEM, but, for a tournament, I would turn that OFF.

The new turn rules I still don't understand but I think I was thinking about variable initiative.
And I WAS thinking this was the expanded one (thx for clarification) but still sounds fun.

Always welcome to join! The more the merrier! I am estimating about three or four days (maximum) for each player to make a move. That's a pretty good "run rate" to ensure a games complete and rounds are finished w/in the three month per round time frame.
