New Mexico goes to war, 2023
Very fun game of cat and mouse working my way westward along the Pakistani coast towards a well-escorted convoy of Chinese merchants headed out of the straights bringing oil to China.
I worked in very close but then SSN-779, the New Mexico, took a hit from a helicopter-dropped Chinese torp. Damaged and destroyed systems everywhere! nuclear reactor, sensor systems, some weapons...Damn! Game over, I am thinking.
But I am still moving (albeit at 3 knots) and still can launch my MADCAPS and it just so happens I am right in the middle of my targets. 8 ships sunk, 4 huge merchants and 4 escorts and I somehow sneak into deep water and I get a major win.
Most fun I have had in a while. If you enjoy sub ops this one is great!
