Since yesterday, Sunday, I am trying to play the turn of a PBEM game and I get that error.
I tried to play a game against AI and I get too.
I'm playing for Steam

Very odd error, perhaps a reboot may resolve it?

If not I would suggest trying to verify the integrity of the Steam files for the game to see if that helps as well.
