This URL is an interesting PDF. Looks like Naval War College wargamed the conflict for a period of years in the 1980s.

The document is useful in that it projects reasons for a conflict (good for scen briefing file) as well as identifying likely objectives, strategies, and events for both sides.

Wow, thanks much for the link! The "Chronology: 1984 Global War Game" section (pp. 172-176) sounds like it would make a neat scenario.

Maybe someone might be inspired by that section to make us a scene like that
