So when I bring up the new mod campaigns, it seems that the names of the units are messed up.

I have a carrier task force named Kliest.

I have numerous other weird names for land units.

Do I need to reload something?

There is a fix on the way for this, apologies for this and it is as far as I know only for the 1939 Naval War MOD within the Community Pack.
