Downloaded game through Matrix. To install Steam version would you delete Matrix download or install Steam version over my original Matrix download?

I have installed from a Matrix download, but I use Steam, and see I have a Steam key. I have no idea how to install it to steam and use the steam key I have on my account though?

Any tips?

Unfortunately there is no way to go from Steam to Matrix. There used to be but steam retired the option. They have created a new solution but it is fairly complex and we haven't had time to experiment with it and work out if it is possible with our site, but it is on the wishlist...

I uninstalled Matrix version and installed Steam. One good thing about this all my files were retained meaning saved games and Options alterations.

perhaps im old school...but why would you buy the steam version??? why not buy the disk or the matrix download version?? you have to use the TBF game lobby to hook up multiplayer...everyone does... matrix ver....disk ver....steam ver. am I right??
it seems if you by the steam version they have you over a barrel?
