It stayed quiet for about 5 minutes then the Light AA gun (located S/E of Dommel Bridge) began to receive a few rounds of fairly accurate mortar fire w/ no casualties.

Teams of Paratroopers began advancing from the east over the bridge and into town! To conceal his position for as long as possible, I had MG34 set to ambush rather than defend. I was beginning to get nervous! (grin)

I set MG34 to DEFEND and the troops scattered. I went back to ambush again to avoid detection. As more troops entered the map I repeated: ambush/defend/ambush.
The Light AA gun had a LOS into the advance and I changed their orders to FIRE!

Bad idea! Although it caused a few casualties, it quickly attracted accurate mortar fire as well as direct fire from across the canal.

A lone survivor panicked and began to run north towards the action near the bridge.

I tried to issue an 'ambush' order so he would
stop running and take refuge in a nearby shed. I lost track of him because of other pressing matters!
He eventually ended up just below the bridge girder and stayed there. He eventually perished in the upcoming cross-fire.

To the west, German infantry teams open up on an advancing group of Paratroops! The Para's eventually retreated.
