I had very high hopes for this game and I particularly like the way it looks, but the way it plays is something else! I have been trying to play against the A.I. but I'm close to giving up on this game as unplayable.

I have patched the game to the newest version, but there is still a lot of work to do. If the game is to receive further patches (and it desperately needs them!) I would suggest addressing the following major problems:

The game freezes or crashes to desktop.

Retreats are bizarre and (unrealistically) are more often than not advances!

Combat often produces truly weird results.

If you could sort this lot out the game could be really good, and to make it even better future updates could include such things as an undo button and a U.I. that provides more information.

Okay, Zakblood, I've redirected it! [:)]

I have the original DOS version in the box from years ago which works fine. I got this version through Steam in hopes of keeping it easier to put on newer pc's. It never worked properly.

I never had a problem with the Steam version, but I only played through the game once. Which is pretty much all you get at this point. It is not Unity of Command, but a likable dev, who is working on something else I think with more depth.

Come Christmas on Steam, check out Wars and Battles October War from Battle Factory and Hexwar (yes, them). If you can get it for $10, it is quite worth it.

There may still be a lot of work to do on the game, but I personally had no problem with the Steam version either.
