Subs worth it ?

In all the videos I've seen subs destroy 0-2 convoys per turn. Is it worth using them, since they cost oil to move + points to build ?

That's at the earlier tech level, probably. Whether it's worth it, is partly dependent upon the Allied player, how much is invested in ASW tech, building of escorts, positioning forces against raiders.

If both the Axis and Allies follow history they should get historical results. Which means that by 1942 the u-boat threat was very well shut down by the UK. But the UK must invest in it.
Deploying u-boats has a strategy depending on what you are attempting to accomplish.
Each convoy is the raw production/oil value + the price of the merchant marine + the price of buying escorts for the UK.
