Is France too strong now?

Maybe it's just me and some other Axis players being too bold, but I've seen and achieved entire panzerkorps shattered by mass assaults of French troops. Litterally bayonet assaults.
In a game France has not fallen yet and destroyed 2 or 3 panzers (which is a hefty loss for the German once they get shattered). I am the French in this game... I feel sorry for the German.

Plus nothing stops France to ship -everything- to France except 1 unit in Algiers.

You have to be more careful now with the Germans. Working as intended I think.

I'm taking a more gradual approach in the west in my PBEM after a couple of false starts. Take out Luxemburg and Netherlands first, line up the German army, and wait for the first snow turn to start grinding away at Belgium, and if the Allies want to march forward out of their foxholes into Belgium, bring it on.

I continue to ask myself how gamey it is. Hard to rewrite the history but invading Belgium without French intervention is un-historical.

Yeah but its game mechanics that dictate play. Take a look at the situation in my latest screenshot in my AAR of the game vs. Flaviusx, I would have loved to move forward and occupied the Belgian foxholes given the situation and weather. But the foxholes don't persist and any unit that moves loses its entrenchment so I sit back in France and watch Belgium go poof even though the current position would be a very strong one if entrenchments were to persist for units that move into a position.

Players have no choice, they have to play the system they have in game even if it "feels" gamey historically. That said I did not strip my overseas possessions. Any hex that started with a unit still has a unit, though some have detached a division to send to France.

For all I know just 1 unit in Algiers suffices to not get Italy have benefits, so all the rest can be stripped with pratical certainness that Italy cannot do anything about it til France is dead.
Then it's better to use these units in France, than to have them sit in the colonies.

Have you tested this? I am in a PBEM game, the last thing I want to do is give my opponent another country to attack France with due to a mistake about garrison rules lol.

I suppose you could increase the North African garrison requirements a bit.

I made the situation on that front a little tougher which requires players to think.

I increased the difficulty of the front because people were conquering France in March of 1940. I started low and worked my way up as I saw videos and what they did.

I fully agree that earlier it was -bad- for the France.
I am not saying, by any means, that the previous situation should be reinstated.

What I am saying is that right now France is too strong.
I'd erase 1 French Fighter from the map and 1 from Britain too - but that's another tale - and require that 1 INF Corp (not Division, can be small corp) has to garrison Damascus, Algiers, Tunis and Rabat to keep Italy honest.
