for recon I turned off fog of war and observed that immediately after DOW on Singapore, Dutch East Indies, Australia, U.S. , Philippines Allied initial placement is shown, but only the Dutch East Indies units (land, air and naval) have red triangles.

What do they mean?

I find no reference to them in the rules.

Well, i did some thinking and remembered where I had seen them before: they are the markings for Dutch units.
