Hello all.
Is there a way to estimate the effectiveness of air attack on ground targets?
With land units, it shows this but not for air units.

Don't assume no strength loss is being ineffective. Loss to a defenders effectiveness is what allows you to crack a tough hex and I "think" every air attack contributes something to effectiveness loss. Though I'm not sure because the game doesn't show these kinds of results.

That is correct. Air power effectiveness was very much overrated during the war. But you will get a feel for it as time passes just like real generals.

Very fair approach .... though the Bomber Baron's would have and did say they could win the war all by themselves ....

I had an acquaintance who served in the German army during in WW2. He said, save being one of the unlucky ones suffering a direct hit, the biggest effect of air power (esp. late war allied air power) was the constant, grinding stress. At its worst, every day and most nights would be sprinkled with dashs to the closest shelter or fox hole to cover ones self with whatever makeshift protection might be at hand to avoid injury from flying debris. The cycle fed in to a deterioration from exhaustion leading to reduced effectiveness. Its very difficult to quantify this sort of effect for a game, but he felt it was very real.

The land odds are approximated are they not. I agree with the developer. However there was psychological and supply affect and I think Zetterling says that German units were more apt to abandon their AFVs when subjected to Allied airpower or he infers that. That's why transportation, rail, supply, bridges etc. are an important part of the Western Allies array of options. Was it not so?
