[RESOLVED] Message Log issues

Hope someone can help, I have all sorts of problems related to the message log window making the game unplayable.
Cntrl M or Cntrl Shift M sometimes crash the program to desktop, running the log in a separate window particularly or generally using the Message log will eventually hang the program - I can no longer move around the map and time hangs.
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled plus checked all supplied redistributables are correctly installed. One thing I noticed is that the installer calls out Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 in the install window but the supplied redistributable is 2015?
Any help appreciated!

Bump, can anyone suggest how I can help trace this issue and assist the devs to fix?

Could you provide the scenario you are using?

In the Command folder, the is a folder 'Logs'. There should be a log 'ExceptionLog.txt' which may record any errors.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for the help, the exception log is attached - seems to show some problems...
I have narrowed down the program hanging to the Flight Tutorial scenarios, particularly #5. I can reproducibly "up arrow" and "down arrow" the message log window and cause the main window to hang. Requires killing the program from Task Manager. Other scenarios don't seem to do this?

Update, same problem (main window hangs and never updates) after using up or down arrow in the message log. This time with Strike Tutorial #1. Log attached.

Additional: I managed to get 1 bombing run in before this occurred, using the Message Log window up and down maybe 5 times.
Does anyone know a work around (e.g. key) to not use the up / down arrow?

Bump as the game remains unplayable for me. Just tried a couple of run throughs of the flight tutorial #4 with the same results on the latest build (1115.7).

I've noticed two additional issues with the message log. I always run it in a separate window and haven't experienced crashing quite as bad as Yam's, but I have two other problems that can be reproduced without saves:
1. Start a mission, play for a while with the summary log, then open the start menu and start a new mission. The summary version of the message log will still contain messages from the last scenario and will no longer update to include messages from the new one. The big ol' wall of text event log will continue to work fine.
2. The big ol' wall of text event log steals focus every time a new event is recorded, rendering it effectively unusable.

Pleased to report much better stability with 1115.8!
I've run 2 flight tutorial scenarios successfully, and am testing more....

ok, I spoke too soon. Using the message log window still quickly crashes the main map display. Log attached.
Scenario is Flight tutorial 8. Build 1119.8

When you are referring to using the up/down arrows (main keys or the keypad ones?), is this while in the 'raw text' message log window??

Is this still an issue under beta 1121.5 as some changes have been made to the message log window?

Hi,
Is this still happening with the new update? (Build 1134.3)
Thanks.
