maybe someone else has noticed this, but I've observed on multiple occasions that when a grenade is thrown(by hand, not grenade launcher) and hits a person directly, it kills them before it even explodes. I don't think I'm mistaken when I see this.

Most of the time I don't mind because it is hitting the enemy, but I lost a lieutenant that was rushing to take a victory location and it left me rather peeved. Not a big deal but maybe something to look into. I'd rather the guy go "ouch!" and maybe get hurt, but it usually is a kill.

I'd say direct hits from grenades are just as if not more effective than grenade explosions.

I only notice this because I am addictively playing this awesome game.

Yes. It is working as designed really - though of course it is not quite as fun when it happens to one of your own men A thrown grenade is a projectile and as such can harm someone it hits. That said, if they are killing instantly in all cases then we may want to dial down the damage they can do (although in reality they would likely go off before the unfortunate victim could get away from them).
