Hello, I am in need of some education regarding air unit deployment. How can I move my US air units to England or Spain. I have loaded my fighters on transports and cannot unload them. I have plenty of landing craft, so no issue there. I cannot unload them into any hex that I've tried. Other than transporting them, how would I get my short leg air units across the pond? Thanks to anyone who can help. Even if I feel foolish after seeing an obvious answer. After this long trying I don't care how I feel if I can get my air power in the fight.

Is USA in the war ?
Is the arrival hex valid for air units, and friendly terrain ?
You shouldn't need landing craft.

Move to port and unload them. There is a small port icon next to the unit on the fleet list. All Urban take planes.

But if you run out of locations to unload air then you need another port or move some air around

Wow, thank you for the fast reply! Yes, the US is at war. I have the first and third fighter corps on transports, currently in Bristol, a level 4 port. When I try to unload, I don’t get the landing craft option. I’ve tried every English port and I have even made the return trip to America trying to unload. I cannot get the unload option in any hex. If it’s a glitch, I will move on and try in my next game. I just wanted to see if I was lost in the sauce. The level of support here is simply amazing! Kinda cool having the Chairman and JCS helping out.

You have to be in a port to unload them. You see the little anchor on the unit itself yes?

Is this a PBEM or A.I. game?

I am in a level 4 port, Bristol. I have tried all the English ports including London. I’ve returned to the U S and tried in DC and Norfolk. No dice. I keep coming up craps. The game may be a little wonkey, because there is also an Hungarian unit in garrison mode in the Spanish port of Ferrell that I cannot attack with my British units. I think this one is a little off. That’s completely fine. I can always restart. I just wanted to know if there were stipulations to landing air I didn’t understand. Thank you for your help.

Are you clicking on the anchor symbol on the unit or are you trying to use the landing craft button? Landing crafts are for invading enemy turf, the anchor symbol is on the unit card in the fleet list and is used to unload transports in friendly ports.

Yes sir. I can load and unload all of my other units, HQ, armor, infantry. It’s just the air that is hanging up. I’ve got plenty of troops in the field in France, but the air units I loaded simply won’t give me the option to unload. It doesn’t give me a notice or correction. The landing craft button doesn’t light up. I think it’s a hang up in this one game. I hope! I’ll start another one and see what’s what. I appreciate the response and checking to make sure I’m not overlooking the basics. I’ll just push ahead with my bombers from the UK.
