I think a major hindrance in this game is the inability in two week turns to transfer air units from one theater to the other. For instance, it may take three turns or 6 weeks to move an air unit from Brittany to the Russian front.

Rail movement in one turn, in the instance you cited. Alvaro has pointed out that one is not just moving the planes, but the ground crew, equipment, and support also.

My Father flew in B24's during the war.

They flew from Miami, to Boston, to the Canaries, to North Africa, then on to their base in Southern Italy.
He said they had a two day layover near Boston, then a week of downtime in the Canaries, then 10 Days in Tunisia before flying to Italy. Then 4 weeks settling into their base before flying their first mission...total of 45-ish days...I double checked the downtime with the dates in his wartime diaries....just sayin'

Im happy with the transfer times..One needs to remember its not just about how long it takes to fly an aircraft from one area to an area. In reality to get a BF 109 or heinkiel might be a matter of days....But then its all the support crew etc mechanics, spare parts and all the other logistics to set up. Now that would take time i would imagine. So 4-6 weeks to have a few hundred aircraft ready for combat with logistics i think is rather generous
