Playing the tutorial scenarios, and they are over the Sahara Desert, which is extremely bright yellow on my monitor. I can't make out the white waypoints, can't see my radar circle, etc. Any way to turn the map colors off? Or dim them down a good bit?

You can turn off the standard BMNG layer and just have black with coast lines and borders. You can also use the relief bap which is mostly green.

Turn off "Stentinel 2" layer.
I do not like it either. Better the classic map (especially in desert and oceanic areas).

^^ Same here. Turn off Sentinal and you'll get the relief layer, and then those white reference points will stand out nicely.

Can somebody give me detailed instructions, please? Can't figure out how to make this happen. The relief map sounds like it would load faster anyway.

in game click "view", then uncheck sentinel-2 and check (if not already checked) the BMNG Layer. You can check/un-check each of the layers to find the layer you like.

And when I did it, when I unchecked Sentinal-2 the relief layer came on automatically, just a few seconds delay.
