i don't understand where the "defend x 2.0" value comes when looking at a mountain (or the 1,7 of the marsh).
The land modifier id 60% (and 40% for marsh): what am i missing?

Mountains is a typo. Supposed to be 50% Thanks. I'll check the rest.

So the value on the information screen is the inverse

So take a swamp which is 40% = 0.4x attacker

On the information panel it shows it as an odds bonus to the defender

1 / (1 - .4)
1 / .6

1.66x defense rounded up to 1.7x

The decision to write it this way was a UX design decision based on information processing.

In the manual update which will come later I will add these values to page I think 55.

This is the new edit for the terrain section. Writing manuals is much harder and time consuming than even I realized.

The River 2.0x and the c modifications makes for a really confusing rule. Far better to let rivers only affect attackers.

BTW did you try having rivers freeze during blizzard in the beta testing?

Good point, doesn't work modifying the defence if some attackers coming across a river and some not.

So defense strength is increased by the multiplier or attack strength reduced by the reciprocal or something else?

Hmmm.... I just assumed modifiers for all terrain only affected attackers and defense was always x1.0. Is that not true?

All penalties are for the attackers. The X number is the inverse effective modifier for odds.

So 4x 10 point units attacking a mountain with a 10 point unit

40 (x50%) vs 10 = 20 vs 10 = 2:1

A mountain is 2.0x defense for odds effectively. I am showing it 2 different ways.

One as the attack damage reducer and the other as an odds modifier like in the information panel.

Someone asked me to include it in the manual. I forgot who to make it less confusing which now seems it has had the opposite effect lol.
